Haim Katz, Welfare Minister of Israel, is to be indicted for corruption according to Israel’s attorney general Avichai Mandelblit. This is one of many charges being actioned against the current government.

Katz is being accused of fraud and breach of trust for allegedly introducing legislation to benefit businessman, Mordechai Ben-Ari, who has been managing Katz investments based on insider trading. Katz is a member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party and has been in his current role since 2015.

Netanyahu is being charged with corruption himself based on allegations of fraud, bribery and breach of trust in cases unrelated to Katz. Charges against Netanyahu will be brought to a hearing in early October, a couple of weeks after the September 17 general elections.

Two other ministers are also being charged, Deputy Health Minister Yaakov Litzman, over accusations he sought to prevent the extradition of a woman facing trial in Australia for pedophilia, and Interior Minister Arye Deri, for fraud and breach of trust in a real estate sales investigation.

Its common worldwide now that elite individuals elected to represent the country only work for their own best interests, at the expense of their people; committing fraud on the people who put their faith and trust in them to appoint them as their leaders.
