Super Cars of Equatorial Guinea

More than $13 million worth of super cars that were being autioned in September by the Swiss Government were seized from the Vice President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue; he’s being charged with corruption and money laundering.

The super cars including the Lamborghini Veneno Roadsters, one of nine cars ever made worth $4.5 million, Ferrari LaFerrari worth $2.5 million and the McLaren P1 worth $1.5 million, were seized in 2016. Mangue’s government remained adamant that the cars were not his, and ultimately ended up being surrendered.

According to auction company Bonhams spokeperson, the people of Equatorial Guinea will be the ultimate benefactors of these proceeds through various charities.
